ENSINUS created INETE in 1988. It has its core business in Education from pre-primary schools to university as well as teaching and vocational training, consulting and applied research. INETE was aimed as a vocational school for young people undergoing initial training, as a school of vocational secondary education comprising Level II (14- 17 years) and Level IV (14-21 years), as well as continuous training of professionals. INETE offers 7 courses (Management, Accountancy, Optics, Computing, Electronics and Industrial Automation, Mechanics and Car Mechanics) 28 classes attended by 592 students. There are 24 full-time teachers, 39 external teachers and 14 non-teachers’ staff.

INETE is located in the center of Lisbon, capital of Portugal. It is attended by students from nearby cities. The classes are located in one well equipped campus with ICT, electronics, telecommunications, automation and mechanics labs, an optics shop and lab and chemical and physics lab. Along with the training of highly qualified technicians, the school fosters a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with each other. We develop curricular and extra-curricular activities which commit students in the pursuit of tolerance, empathy, critical judgement and non-discrimination towards other beliefs, national origins, abilities, gender identity, financial means.  Some students are immigrants from east European countries, Brazil or Portuguese-speaking African countries.

Since 2016, INETE has become a UNESCO’ school promoting cultural projects and activities which have enhanced students to respect their community and cultural heritage through projects that have helped them to find their place in school and in society. Since 2001, INETE participated in 7 Comenius, 4 Leonardo da Vinci and 3 Erasmus+ projects, hosted 6 Comenius language assistants and worked with 10 different countries. We highlight Euroexperts and Euroexperts II, ROVOC, EuroMobility and EuroInternships. By now, we’re developing “MOVE: mobility opportunity via eurointernship” with 18 student mobilities in Spain, France, UK and Finland; 3 teachers mobilities in France and Finland.
