The “Öffentliches Stiftsgymnasium der Benediktiner” in St. Paul Lavanttal is a school of general secondary education comprising Level I (10 – 13 years) and Level II (14- 17 years). It offers two courses: Linguistic Lyceum, focused on languages and Scientific Lyceum, focused on natural sciences. The school has got 51 teachers, 7 not teaching staff, 26 classes with 650 students and is located in a small village in the valley of the Lavant, in a rural area about 70 km from Klagenfurt, capital of Carinthia.

As the only school in the valley, is attended by students from nearby villages and cities. The classes are located in two historical buildings well equipped with gyms, ICT, language, chemical and physics labs. The school is always active to propose efficient and educational paths with curricular and extra-curricular activities, aiming to turn his graduates into tolerant, cosmopolitan, critical and well-educated people with excellent educational qualifications. In the school there is a self-assessment team (SQA) which proposes anonymous questionnaires to teachers, school staff, students, students' families to evaluate each educational activity.

School bullying concerns all EU member states and is an affront to the common values of freedom, tolerance and non-discrimination. It can affect the academic performance of children and young people and may lead to early school leaving, having serious and may be long-term effects. Therefore, according to the priorities of the Erasmus+ program and due to our needs and environmental analyses carried out, our school is strongly motivated to set up this project as coordinator with the aim to acquire, develope and improve in cooperation with other EU schools new skills, common strategies and exchange of good practices preventing bullying and violence in educational institutions across EU.
